Privacy Policy

These Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Policy") describe how AlgoCity, s.r.o., ID No. 26191814, with its registered office at Zamenhofova 28, 779 00 Olomouc, Czech Republic registered with the Regional Court in Ostrava, Section C, Insert 45892 (hereinafter referred to as the "Controller" or "we"), processes personal data of users and community members on the AlgoCity.com website (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").

The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Act No. 110/2019 Coll., on the Processing of Personal Data, and Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on Electronic Communications (cookies).

The Controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). In case of questions or requests regarding personal data, please contact us at the above e-mail.

2. What data we process

The personal data processed varies depending on how you use the Service:

  • Identification and contact data: name, surname, username, e-mail, optionally phone number.
  • Membership and account data: user ID, membership status (monthly/annual), information about purchased plan, login history.
  • Billing and transaction data: billing address, payment information (extent depends on payment gateway; card data are processed only by the payment gateway, not by us), invoice numbers.
  • Communication: e-mail communication, support, inquiries, survey responses.
  • Technical and operational data: IP address, device identifiers, server logs, browser settings, preference cookies, time and type of interactions.
  • Analytical data: aggregated traffic and website behavior (Google Analytics 4).
  • Marketing identifiers: Meta Pixel and Google Ads identifier (if you give consent to marketing cookies).

We do not process special categories of personal data (sensitive data). The Service is intended for persons over 18 years of age.

3. Purposes and legal bases of processing

Purpose: Operating and providing the Service
Description: creating and managing a user account, membership, access to tools and content, support
Legal basis: performance of contract (b)
Retention: for the duration of the account/membership + 3 years

Purpose: Billing and accounting
Description: issuing tax documents, keeping payment records
Legal basis: legal obligation (c)
Retention: according to statutory periods (usually 10 years)

Purpose: Communication
Description: responses to inquiries, service notifications
Legal basis: legitimate interest (f)
Retention: 2 years from last interaction

Purpose: Security and misuse prevention
Description: logging access, preventing attacks, incident handling
Legal basis: legitimate interest (f)
Retention: 1 year (logs), depending on the nature of the incident

Purpose: Analytics (GA4)
Description: measuring and improving the website
Legal basis: consent (a)
Retention: until withdrawal of consent / max. 26 months

Purpose: Marketing and remarketing (Meta, Google Ads)
Description: personalized advertising, measuring campaign performance
Legal basis: consent (a)
Retention: until withdrawal of consent / max. 6–24 months depending on cookie

Purpose: Newsletter and updates
Description: sending relevant information about the Service
Legal basis: legitimate interest (f) for members; consent (a) for non-members
Retention: until unsubscribing / withdrawal of consent

Note: We carefully consider legitimate interest and respect your right to object.

4. Where we obtain data from
  • directly from you when registering, ordering, communicating;
  • automatically when using the website (technical and analytical data);
  • from payment service providers (payment status, matching of payment and invoice).
5. Recipients and processors of personal data

Your data may be disclosed to the following categories of recipients (always only to the necessary extent):

  • hosting and IT service provider (website operation, maintenance, backups),
  • payment intermediary/payment gateway Stripe (processing of payments; card data are processed only by Stripe),
  • accountants and tax advisors (fulfilling legal obligations),
  • e-mailing and communication tools (sending transactional and newsletter e-mails)
  • Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads),
  • Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Meta Pixel, remarketing),
  • external legal advisors when enforcing claims.

We have signed appropriate contracts with each processor pursuant to Article 28 GDPR.

6. Transfer to third countries outside the EEA

Some recipients (especially Google, Meta, Stripe) may transfer data to countries outside the EEA (e.g. USA). These transfers are based on:

  • adequacy decisions (e.g. EU-US Data Privacy Framework), and/or
  • standard contractual clauses (SCC) and additional safeguards.

7. Retention period

We retain personal data only for the period necessary to fulfil the purpose, or for the period required by law. After the expiry of the periods, we securely delete or anonymize the data.

8. Your rights

You have the right:

  • to access personal data and information on processing;
  • to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • to erasure ("right to be forgotten") in cases provided by law;
  • to restriction of processing;
  • to data portability to another controller;
  • to object to processing based on legitimate interest, including objection to direct marketing;
  • to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

9. Security

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data (encrypted transmission, access control, logging, backups). Access to data is granted only to authorized persons and processors, and only to the necessary extent.

10. Automated decision-making and profiling

We do not carry out automated decision-making with legal effects within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. In marketing, we may use basic segmentation (e.g. according to account activity) or remarketing based on cookies – only with your consent to marketing cookies

  • strictly necessary (technical) – ensure website functionality and security;

11.4 Third parties

Analytical and marketing cookies are processed only based on your consent.

12. E-mail communication and newsletters

We may send service e-mails (e.g. regarding account operation, changes to terms) to members. Newsletters are sent either based on legitimate interest (to existing members of similar services) or based on consent. Each commercial message includes an unsubscribe option.

13. Third-party websites and links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or data processing.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time (e.g. due to changes in legislation or technology). The new version will be published on this page with the effective date. We recommend checking the Policy regularly.
